10 Things Every Human Being Needs to Know About God and Eternity

God Loves You

The best known words in all of the Bible are found in John 3:16. It says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”In these words we find the greatest truth known to man — God loves everyone in the world. Whoever you are, or whatever you have done, God loves you. You might ask, ‘How much does God love me?’ God loves you so much that He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that you and I can be forgiven of all your sins and spend eternity in heaven with Him.

There is a Real Place Called Hell

Jesus spoke more often about hell than He spoke about heaven. He called it…

  • Hell fire Matthew 5:22

  • Outer darkness, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth Matthew 8:12, 22:13

  • A furnace of fire Matthew 13:42

  • The fire that never shall be quenched: Where the worm dieth not Mark 9:43-48

  • A place of torment Luke 16:23-24

Other references of hell are found in 2 Peter 2:4,9, Revelation 19:20, and Revelation 20:10-15.

Many people don’t want to hear about hell and they are offended to be told it exists.  But if hell exists, as the Bible says it does, how would you feel if no one cared enough to warn you about its eternal
peril. The reality is, there is a real place called hell and we don’t have to go there. God, in His mercy, has provided a way to escape hell—through Jesus Christ, His only Son.

There is a Real Place Called Heaven

Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord has the wonderful promise of heaven for all eternity. In John 14:1-3, Jesus said,

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

Heaven is described in the Bible as… the dwelling place of God (Daniel 7:9-10) where Jesus sits at the right hand of God (Acts 7:55-56). The Apostle Paul called it a building of God…eternal in the heavens (2 Cor. 5:1) and paradise (2 Cor. 12:2). The Apostle John described heaven’s awesome glory in Revelation 4:2-5, 5:11, 7:9, 21:1-4 and 22:3-5.

Heaven is a real place and you can go there forever.
